Synopsis

Our client, a international law firm is looking to hire a Business Development Manager with considerable experience in a law firm or professional service company.

The successful candidate will be required to develop an overall strategic business development plan for Johannesburg which filters down into business plans for each practice area.

He/she will be required to work using own initiative, able to deal with an element of ambiguity, work with minimal guidance and direction from manager and must be results driven - demonstrate high levels of commitment and dedication to achieving goals and objectives


Minimum Requirements

Requirements/Experience:

B. Comm / IMM / Marketing / Sales / Business Development Tertiary Qualification,
Minimum of 7-10 years post qualification experience in a business development role with emphasis on branding, digital, social media, events and awards,
Demonstrated broad or generalist business development experience in implementing, communications plans, managing budgets and coordinating marketing projects in a complex organisation, including multiple stakeholder management groups,
Business development experience and or client relationship management experience within a Professional Services environment,
Experience at a law firm is advantageous.


Role Description

Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:


Business Development

Embark on Business Development activities to grow existing business, cross-selling and bring in new clients,
Monitor progress of new business development through research of the industry and related events, publications and announcements,
Interpret information gathered to identity opportunities, trends and potential clients.

General

Ensures fast, clear communication of all relevant business development activities and tools to relevant stakeholders, and collect regular feedback,
Continuous market research and competitor analysis to pro-actively use branding and business development opportunities,

Brand

Ensure a consistent brand image and message,
Determine ways to inform and engage the firm’s partners and staff with a brand promise and brand objectives,
Develop and implement a brand identity framework.

Marketing

Plan, organise and manage direct business development activities with the view to increasing client loyalty,
Project manage initiatives and successfully manage internal relationships and participation in the projects to achieve its objective,
Provide specialised expertise and own multiple or high impact business development campaigns in order to meet business needs, drive business results and build brand equity.
