Synopsis
A prestigious commercial law firm in Pretoria is looking for a Senior Conveyancing Secretary to join their practice.
Minimum Requirements
In depth knowledge and understanding of bonds in general;
Ability to interpret bond instructions from various banks and having a full understanding of bond conditions to be complied with;
Understanding and interpreting deeds office records;
Good command of the English language;
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients in a professional and effective manner;
Excellent writing skills required for preparation of correspondence to clients, banks and linked attorneys;
Ability to work independently and to effectively manage high volumes of work;
Team player with good interpersonal skills, showing an eagerness to assist others within the department;
Typing speed of 45+ words per minute;
Meticulousness and attention to detail, managing a neat and organized work station;
Experience in transfers, bond cancellations and/or commercial bonds will be an added advantage;
Fully conversant in Microsoft Office, LexisConvey, L@W/E4 and stordoc (essential).
Qualification/s
Matric/National Diploma or equivalent qualification;
Secretarial Diploma with excellent typing skills;
6-10 years’ experience in conveyancing environment, specifically bonds.
No EE requirments.
Role Description
Downloading instructions from banks, updating of conveyancing systems, perusal and interpretation of applicable conditions;
Performing and interpreting person-and property searches;
Opening of files and preparation of statements of account;
Contacting clients, preparation of initial correspondence to clients and transfer attorneys;
Preparation and sending of weekly reports to clients, banks and linked attorneys;
Preparing loan documents accurately and independently;
Preparing compliance packs for submission to and approval by banks;
Preparing documents for lodgement and ensuring all conditions are met and processes followed in order for matters to be registered successfully at the relevant deeds registry;
Attending to all financial aspects of transactions, including collection of costs/disbursements from clients and attending to general accounting queries;
Finalising of files including following up and delivering of security documents to banks.
