Synopsis

Our client is a multi-national FMCG company looking for two internal audit assistant managers. The position will report into the Internal Audit Exec and form part of the Internal Audit Team.


Minimum Requirements

* BComm / BCompt (Accounting or Internal Auditing) or relevant degree. No Diplomas
* Certified Internal Auditor.
* Minimum five years’ experience post articles.
* Experience in the FMCG industry is mandatory with particular attention to stock and debtors
experience.
* Membership to the IIA SA or IIA Inc.
* Must be prepared to travel (60%-75%).
- Audits are generally three out of four weeks of travel, if the audit is a back-to-back away
audit.
- In addition; there will be stock-takes, which will require weekend work. This may also entail
travelling away from Johannesburg. This position will warrant attendance at stock-takes for
the full duration of the stock-take.
* Possess a valid driver’s licence.
* Knowledge of sound business, accounting (important), audit and control practices.
* Generally a young person who has no commitments and is prepared to travel extensively.


Role Description

Responsibilities:
* Conducting internal audits at various branches/factories independently and/or in a team. (There are currently 53 auditable units in Africa and four in the Middle East & Turkey combined).
8 Perform stock-take audits at various branches/factories/divisions throughout the country (72 sites for Africa; 15 for Middle East & Turkey combined).
* Reporting and communicating audit findings and recommendations to management.
* Review of projects, programmes, policies and procedures.
* Fully manage/supervise and review the audit team and audit work.
* Audit staff will report directly into this position.
* Perform appraisals for staff and manage training for staff.
* Take full charge of audits from start to finish.
* Becomes the IA Executives 2nd in charge.
* Facilitate the implementation of recommendations.
* Carry out internal audit activities as may be necessary for the successful execution of the audit plan for the year.
* Manage performance on ad-hoc projects or special investigations.
* Identify weaknesses in procedures, systems and internal controls.
* The person must be willing to be very hands on with audits, staff and stock-takes. It is not merely a supervisory function.
* The environment is fast paced and the person must be willing to work in this environment and handle multiple tasks.
