Legal Secretary ~ Litigation (LEGCA32260)

Synopsis

One of South Africa's leading law firms require a hardworking dynamic individual to join their firm. The successful candidate will be someone with extreme resilience (you will be working with a rough and tough team).

The candidate must be willing to be available at any time, and whenever needed.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications
 Matriculation certificate or equivalent
 A relevant tertiary qualification is preferable i.e. B degree / diploma or equivalent in legal studies or legal secretarial studies, and/ or office administration e.g. Accredited Legal Secretary (ALS)

Experience
 Where no formal qualification exists the build up of relevant work experience should exceed 5 years within a legal practice
 Where a tertiary qualification has been obtained, this qualification needs to be supported by a minimum of 5 years previous working experience of which at least 2-3 years needs to have been spent in a legal secretary role within a law practice.

Competencies
 Ability to read, write and spell effectively in English and Afrikaans.
 Shorthand an advantage.
 Ability to work in a challenging environment with a wide and varied caseload.
