Synopsis

Our client is a non-profit organisation that is unique in that it represents directors, professionals, business leaders and those charged with governance duties in their individual capacities in southern Africa. They are looking to employ a Senior Manager: Governance & Legal Advisory to create and maintain governance thought leadership and research; and provide governance advisory services, as required within the professional environment of the company.


Minimum Requirements

Legal Bachelors’ Degree: preferably post graduate with company law and/or governance related
Minimum of 5-7 years post qualification relevant legal experience
Management level experience
Knowledge of the Companies Act (2008) and King Reports on Corporate Governance preferable
Experience in research and drafting of reports, papers and articles
Corporate consulting and advisory


Role Description

Providing a central source of guidance and advice to the company and its members on matters of corporate law and governance
Performing/overseeing and growing Corporate Governance Advisory Services
Compiling, reviewing and maintaining the company's thought leadership and research
Writing and publishing regular topical legal/governance articles
Performing client presentations and other speaking engagements
Representing the company on selected Forums and Committees and providing relevant technical input
Providing internal legal support to the company where necessary
Promoting of the company and its services to all potential clients / members
Internal reporting on department performance
