Synopsis

Our client is a multinational food, snack, and beverage company with interests in the manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of grain-based snack foods, beverages, and other products. They are looking to employ a Legal Advisor to join their organization.


Minimum Requirements

Minimum 4-year LLB Degree and admitted lawyer in the High Court with good standing
4-6 years post qualification experience at medium sized law firm
Solid commercial acumen and excellent drafting skills for Distribution Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Software License Agreements, Hardware License Agreements, Commissioning and Installation Agreements, Supply Agreements.
Protection of Personal Information Act (“POPIA”) and data Privacy knowledge
Ability to timely resolve instructions in support of a fast-moving consumer goods company that requires agility from support functions such as the legal department


Role Description

Draft all material agreements regarding foods and nutrition expansion including Contract Manufacturing, Distribution Agreements and Supply Agreements.
Participate and actively contribute to Food and Snacks Business Development Team by providing legal advice and guidance on weekly Steerco
Provide legal advice and opinions on variety of snacks and nutrition related matters including working closely with marketing and Insights Counsel on all business initiatives.
Support subsidiary business unit legal team with expansion agenda for snack products exports in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Advise, and prepare execution versions of Supply and Distribution Agreements for Snacks supply to various Sub-Sahara African territories
Provide legal support to SA Exports team in all exports to the subsidiary's Territories Data Privacy
Advise the Business Unit on Data Privacy law and adherence to the organization's Data Privacy policy.
Prepare the Business Unit for the implementation of the protection of Personal Information Act “(POPIA”) and manage all risks associated with this legislation to subsidiary Business Units.
Drafting and vetting of all telecoms and IT Agreements for software license agreements, hardware agreements, licenses and related IT services, supply and commissioning agreement.
Independently support and advise the Business, Innovation and Skills team in mitigating their legal risk, which includes direct interaction with the subsidiary's IT Director and their subordinates.
Provide training to business clients on the organization's Data Privacy and Anti-Bribery Policies
