Business Analyst – Data & Analytics | Law Firm | Johannesburg

Are you an analytical professional with a passion for business process improvement, financial systems, and data-driven decision-making?

Our client, a leading law firm with offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join their Data & Analytics team in Johannesburg.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a world-class professional services environment, partnering with Finance, IT, Legal and Data teams to optimise business processes, improve financial systems, and deliver meaningful business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Business Process Analysis

• Document and map financial business processes and data flows across systems.
• Analyse existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Maintain process documentation and enterprise data flow models.

Business Process Improvement

• Participate in business process reengineering initiatives.
• Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency, data quality and user experience.
• Support implementation of process improvements with business and technical stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Gather and document business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops with Finance, IT, Legal and Data teams.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Analyse financial data and identify business trends.
• Assist with financial modelling, forecasting and budgeting.
• Present meaningful financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Systems Optimisation

• Evaluate financial systems and recommend enhancements.
• Support implementation of system upgrades and improvements.
• Ensure financial data integrity across enterprise systems.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Informatics
• 3–5 years' experience in:
• Business Analysis
• Financial Systems
• Business Process Improvement
• Experience working with Finance and Data teams
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• SQL experience
• Knowledge of ERP systems
• Experience with Aderant will be advantageous
• Experience within a professional services or legal environment is advantageous
