An established legal services organisation is seeking a driven and client-focused Civils Legal Professional to join its Pretoria office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional who is passionate about providing accessible legal advice, resolving disputes through mediation and negotiation, and delivering exceptional service to policy holders.
The successful candidate will provide professional legal advice, conduct consultations, draft legal documentation, assess the merits of civil matters, and work proactively to resolve disputes amicably before litigation becomes necessary.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Providing professional legal advice to policy holders.
Conducting consultations in person, telephonically and in writing.
Taking comprehensive legal instructions and assessing the merits of civil matters.
Drafting legal correspondence, warning letters, settlement agreements, representations and wills.
Managing family law, estate and general civil legal matters.
Mediating and negotiating disputes to achieve amicable resolutions.
Providing written and verbal legal opinions.
Explaining legal processes, policy provisions and exclusions to policy holders.
Maintaining regular communication and progress updates with clients.
Conducting legal research and applying current legislation to matters.
Assessing litigation cover eligibility in accordance with company policies.
Maintaining accurate file administration, diary management and legal records.
Working closely with internal departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
Ensuring compliance with legal, claims and organisational policies.
Minimum Requirements
LLB Degree.
Admission as an Attorney or Advocate will be advantageous.
Minimum 2 years' post-articles civil law experience.
Broad civil legal experience across multiple practice areas.
Ability to speak, read and write at least two official African languages.
Excellent legal drafting skills.
Strong legal research and analytical ability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate.
Strong administration and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team.
High levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
